This is a service provided for
parents / teachers to discuss difficulties arising at home / school
due to the child’s inappropriate behaviour, lack of self
esteem and / or lack of social awareness. Advice is given and
home / school programmes in behaviour modification are provided.
Behaviour modification is based on reward systems, communication
aids, visual schedules, social stories and guidelines for teachers
/ parents.
The general procedure for Behaviour Consultancy involves: firstly, a meeting with the parents / teachers to discuss the child’s difficulties; secondly, observation of the child in the respective setting; thirdly, a written report and behaviour modification resources are supplied to all concerned; fourthly, a meeting is arranged to discuss issues relating to the implementation of the behaviour programme. |
